Network Delaware’s Campaign Management Program gives you the skills to push policies and win elections. This intensive program immerses participants in the fundamentals of strategy, communications, resource generation, team success, 21st century tools, and tactics.

Selected participants will develop their skills through group workshops, campaign simulations, and working with guest speakers. Through out-of-class assignments (e.g. readings, videos, and exercises) participants will hone their ability to run a successful campaign.

Participants will also work in groups to generate example campaign plans to actually practice implementing them. The programs ends with final presentation of campaign plan results before a panel of campaign professionals.

This program is for:

  • Electoral campaigns: Those who want to elect grassroots candidate for local and state offices
  • Issue campaigns: Those who wish to pass new legislation and/or policies


  • Running a campaign for a school board candidate
  • Organizing a campaign to push for criminal justice reform
  • Directing a campaign for educational equity
  • Coordinating a campaign for someone running for state representative or state senate

What you’ll learn

This program covers 21st century political organizing methods, with a special emphasis on the process to create a grassroots political culture. Through this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discover how to motivate their voter universe and/or constituency
  • Classify the main methods to create a “Win Number”
  • Articulate the primary evidence-based tools to increase voter turnout
  • Coordinate volunteer-led leadership teams
  • Identify a compelling message and press strategy
  • Support management of an effective candidate
  • Prepare a well-rounded fundraising program
  • Adapt technology trends into their campaign
  • Review digital tools and strategies
  • Develop strong ties to political constituencies
  • Build the skills of team members to enhance capacity after elections

Program details

  • 4 session program
  • Meets on Thursday nights (February 13th, February 27th, March 12th, and March 26th) from 6pm to 8pm
  • Ends with full-day campaign simulation on Saturday, April 4th from Noon to 5pm
  • $250 (Full and partial financial assistance is available)

    Attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged, however if you need to miss a session please let the program managers know in your interview.
