The Black Staffer University (BSU) is a training program specifically for aspiring Black politicos and campaign team members. This program is for those wishing to get a thorough overview of what it’s like to work on a political campaign with the goal of diversifying paid campaign staff throughout the state.
This program is completely nonpartisan and we encourage participation from people registered with all political parties to attend and learn. The curriculum is nonpartisan as well and applies to key electoral contexts in Delaware (e.g. school board, city/county councils, and the General Assembly).
Participants will gain an understanding of the major components of starting up a campaign, fundraising, field organization and GOTV. Participants will put their lessons to work on a simulated campaign.
This program is ideal for anyone who identifies as Black with an interest in working in politics.
BSU is co-sponsored by the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Young Professionals.
